Introducing the 2016 class of Colorado music pioneers! The ceremony will celebrate a new class of inductees and include performances from previous inductees. Barrio Funk plays! Drink Specials and a Screen Printing Party featuring Master Printers and renowned Native and Chicano artists such as Damian Charrette, Carlos Fresquez and Justin Maes. Live music, food, and a Screen Printing Party that will feature activities- hands-on demonstrations and crowd pleasing fun.10:00 am
Breakfast, Mimosas and Printmaking
The artists will begin by printing their designs cut from linocuts and woodcuts and other surfaces that they have created. A Chicano Power Breakfast ( chorizo, papas and of course huevos) and of course an opportunity for a morning energy boost from our bar. The event is free the bar and breakfast cost. Artists wishing to print their work e-mail for fees and information.

Mexican Hamburgers, Cerveza and Chicano Art
Each Master Printer will present a lecture and demonstration regarding printmaking. Intermittently Artist and musician Adolfo Romero will offer his musical interpretation and response to the activities for the events.

Son Jarocho Workshop and Jam Session
Bring your axe, your jarana, cajon or quijada and join in the fun as we visit the edgy and traditional world of Colectivo Altepee from Acayucan, Veracru. And maybe find out a little more about the jarana, cajon and quijada

FAC (Festival Afternoon Concert) & Printmaking Party
Dig the music of Barrio Funk and shake a little groove thing and then join in carving a community woodcut. Then watch as a giant steamroller courtesy of the City of Denver’s Public Works Department will press that image onto a giant (4 X 8) sheet of paper. All work will be displayed throughout the Chicano Music Festival. Artist’s wishing to create images in advance or print their own work please contact tony@suteatro.org.

Dance and cheer on the steamroller press as it makes its second pass through Su Teatro’s Chicano Music Festival. You can also buy freshly printed art which will be available as part of the auction.
