Premiered in Barbados and the US in 2023-24.
Created in collaboration with artist from Barbados and Knoxville, Tennessee by the Paris-Bailey Arts group, the play with music, Yankee Bajan.
The story of a family who no longer feels safe and welcome in their Atlanta home, decides to move to their ancestral home of Barbados.
Foreigners in their home land, and quarantined as part of COVID, the family must navigate their new life and the new cultural conflicts from their “Yankee” upbringing.
Writer and producer Parris-Bailey describes how the play engages “the audience in an experience that takes them back to the wisdom of Barbadian heroes”
What is and where is home? Embracing their legacy and the realities of the present allows them to find their way home.
